2. Gold rates are indicative

Gold prices change through the day. The rates on this site follow a market benchmark and show the date they were captured. They are not an offer to buy or sell gold, and no jeweller or dealer has to honour them. Always confirm the final price with the seller before you buy or sell.

3. Jewellery prices are different

Our rates are for the gold itself. A jewellery bill also includes making charges, and sometimes wastage, stones and taxes. These vary from shop to shop, so your final price will be higher than the metal price shown here. Any worked examples on our site use made-up charges to explain the method.

4. Accuracy

We work hard to keep our information correct and up to date, but we cannot promise it is always complete, current or free of mistakes. If you spot an error, please tell us and we will look into it.

5. Zakat and religious information

Our zakat guide gives general, commonly used figures such as the nisab. Scholars hold different views on some points. It is not a religious ruling. Please ask a qualified scholar about your own situation.

6. Investing in gold

Gold prices can rise and fall, and you can lose money. Nothing on this site tells you to buy, hold or sell gold. Speak to a licensed adviser before you make an investment decision.
