These figures are the bullion benchmark. A jewellery bill adds making charges on top, which vary by shop. Ask for weight, rate and making charges to be itemised separately so quotes can be compared.
Pakistan trades on one national bullion benchmark set at Karachi Sarafa Bazar. City rates can differ by a small dealer premium, so confirm the final quote with your local jeweller. Prices are in Rs per tola.

WHO SETS THE RATE
Who announces the gold price in Pakistan?
Pakistan’s daily gold rate is announced by the bullion trade itself, not by the government or a market regulator. Here is how a rate travels from the world market to your jeweller.
STEP 1
The world price
Gold is priced around the world in US dollars per troy ounce, mainly through the London and New York markets.
STEP 2
The rupee rate
That price is converted into rupees at the USD to PKR exchange rate, then adjusted for local costs, duties and demand.
STEP 3
The sarafa associations
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), together with local sarafa associations, announces the rate that dealers and jewellers follow. Karachi’s Sarafa Bazaar is the main hub.
How often is the rate announced?
Associations publish a rate once on a quiet day, and more than once when international prices move sharply. We could not confirm a single fixed announcement time, so every rate on our site shows the date it was captured.
Good to know
The sarafa rate is a trade benchmark for the gold itself, not a law. Your jeweller’s final bill adds making charges, and cities can differ by a small dealer premium. See how we work out and update our rates.
As of 19 Sep 2026, 24K gold is Rs 451,550 per tola and Rs 38,714 per gram in Pakistan, based on the Sarafa Bazar benchmark. 22K gold is Rs 413,921 per tola.
The bullion trade announces it. The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), together with local sarafa associations, announces the rate that dealers and jewellers follow. It is a trade benchmark, not a government-set price.
Karat shows purity. 24K is 99.9% pure, 22K is 91.6%, 21K is 87.5% and 18K is 75.0%. Higher-karat gold is softer and costs more per gram. Lower karats are mixed with other metals, which makes them harder and more affordable.
Pakistan follows one national bullion benchmark, so the base rate is the same across cities. Individual dealers can add a small premium, so always confirm the final quote with your local jeweller.
The listed rate is for the metal itself. A jewellery bill adds making charges, and often wastage, which vary by shop and design. Ask for the weight, the rate and the making charges to be itemised separately.
Every rate on this page shows the date it was captured, in the “Rates as of” label. Check that date before you buy or sell, because gold prices can change during the day.
